Aboriginal Artefacts
Aboriginal people of Australia use many different varieties of tools in their day to day life while moving through this country hunting food, building their camps and participating in their ceremonies.
Spears, boomerangs and gunyas were just another part of our way of life and these tools helped us live and hunt in our natural environment. Our people did not have metal until the first settlers came here, so our tools and objects were made out of natural recourses that we took from the land or sea, changing the country little in the way of pollution but manipulating the land using fire and the planting of trees (which in turn helped with hunting and the production of fruits and berries!).
Here at www.goombuckar.com we have a number of artefacts on display, which you can enjoy or utilise with using our education packs and lessons. It must be said though that all Aboriginal Tribes have different shaped tools which may or may not be similar or have similar uses!
I have tried to make this sight as simple as I can and used a number of artefacts from all over Australia.
