Digging Stick
The digging stick is a very clever invention with a few uses. The first as the name suggests is “digging” using the sharp point to dig into the ground looking for Honey ants, yams, roots and other bulbs that live under the ground.
As you can see in the one at the top of the page, can you see the larger club looking part? Well that’s just what it is, a club. This ingenious tool, was also used to hunt small animals, like possum and goanna.
It was made out of Black wattle or Mulga and was very hard, a blow from this would provide dinner any time!
