Killer Boomerang

This is one boomerang I wouldn’t want thrown at me! It is used for hunting large animals like emu and kangaroo, as well as birds such as ducks and geese. As with many of the tools we used, the killer boomerang is not just a piece of wood.  It doesn’t come back but it is designed to go further than one could throw it.

Pretend that we are out hunting a kangaroo, and the kangaroo is out in the open.  It's about 40m away from us but we are hidden in the grass. It's too far away for a good hit. Or is it?

The boomerang is designed to roll through or bounce. Once it’s hit the ground it will follow through, still continuing on with great force, hopefully hitting it's target. Have a look at the diagram below.
