“Web Goanna”

“Web Goanna” is a story of two spirit brothers and their followers who trail the rivers of Australia. They only arise from the water when the rain is falling and the rivers are swollen.

This artwork was also inspired by a spiders web hence the name “Web Goanna”.

Ribbons on the animal’s tail and throughout its body, signify lakes and rivers of Australia. Circles represent campsites, situated close to these rivers and lakes, understanding the importance of being near water.

The background depicts the ochre coloured, dry land of Australia.
