Bush food
This section is on the many “bush” foods and medicinea we as Aboriginal People have been using for many generations. I have been to many parts of this majestic country, learning as much as I can from my mother Hope, Uncles and Aunties, but also from work mates and friends as well.
It is a great pleasure to walk through the bush, listening and watching for birds and animals hidden within the grasses and trees. There are many uses for the plants here and I am still learning of other foods and plants to use in making artefacts and medicine.
I have also found that a lot of the best and most useful plants and shrubs are in fact poisonous.
It's true, even some of the plants shown here on www.goombuckar.com are in fact very poisonous and must first go through the washing or curing stage before being eaten. I do not recommend that you eat any of the foods here on this site unless you have an experienced guide with you at the time.
Thanks for visiting www.goombuckar.com and please stay safe.
